Listed below are the basic steps for using Uber Textures. Textures work really well over areas that are blurred and areas that are in tonal contrast to the texture, light textures over dark areas etc. More then one texture can be used to give a creative effect.
Step 1: Once you have an image open and selected you will need to use Bridge and locate the Uber Texture you wish to use and open the texture file. For this example Uber Texture047 was used.

Step 2: After opening the texture file run the Uber Textures action – Copy Texture.

Step 3: Return to the original image and run the action – Paste Texture. This will place the texture on top of your image.

Step 4: The texture files are 5000 pixels high and you may need to reduce the texture layer in size. To reduce the size of the texture layer, press Cmd T/Ctrl T (Transform) and you will see a set of handles. If you can’t see them you may need to reduce the viewing area by using the Zoom tool as I have done here. Click on one of the corner handles and drag inward. You can use any of the handles and drag multiple times until you have it reduced to the image size. It doesn’t have to be perfect. When you’re finished adjusting press the Enter key.

Step 5: Run Texture Edges Normal or Texture Edges Wide and the layer will be modified with a layer mask added revealing the layer below. You can use a white brush to paint on the layer mask to reveal more of the texture or paint with black to hide texture.

Step 6: At this point you can use any of the other actions to get a variety of effects. Running the action ‘Invert’ changes the texture layer to a negative and reverses the tones in the texture.

Explanation of other Uber Textures Actions
All of the remaining texture actions can be used to alter the texture layer and are self explanatory – their names match the function. All can be undone using Cmd Z/Ctrl Z immediately after running.
